The seven new prints published by Gemini G.E.L. in early 2001 were started during a week-long visit to the workshop in Los Angeles in February 1999. Brice Marden had been invited to create a special edition for a local museum, and from that initial image, the Gemini project developed. Marden created three etching plates and fourteen lithography plates, and combined them in different ways to make seven related but visually distinct works.
