Richard Tuttle: Metal Shoes

January 20, 2010February 27, 2010

The eight exquisitely and intimately colored etchings created by Richard Tuttle in collaboration with the Los Angeles-based artist workshop, Gemini G.E.L. will be on view from January 20 – February 27, 2010, at Gemini G.E.L. at Joni Moisant Weyl.

This is Gemini’s first collaboration with Richard Tuttle, a postminimalist artist known for fragile objects made of unusual materials such as wire, rope, and scraps of paper.  The prints in this series combine Tuttle’s delicately-drawn etched lines with geometric forms created by the artist’s forceful hammering of copper plates.
